100kg Ragged Tooth Shark Caught At Fish River Point In Eastern Cape
The day was here, Stephan, Steven and I had been
waiting to go and target sharks at Fish River Point for almost the whole
year. We were finally here! We all rigged up with different baits and
method and we waited and admired until the Daiwa SL 50's ratchet went
screaming off... A few seconds later, Stephan, set the hook and prepared
for the best fight of his life. 15 minutes in and we had a problem...
The fish wouldn't turn and we needed to get the
Ragged Tooth Shark into
a small gully in order to land her safely. Stephan pulled her into the
gully and moved to the other side of it. Steven grabbed the fish and
safely landed it on some seaweed amongst the rocks. What a beautiful
fish, we were all chuffed and Stephan was exhausted, even though "Raggies"
are regarding as docile fighters this female gave a good account of
herself. After some pictures we revived her and she swam off safely,
