The Dorado is one of the most beautiful saltwater game fish in South African coastal waters and we are very fortunate to have a good population of Dorado. The Dorado is well known all over the world as great sport fish on light tackle and has many names world wide which are occasionally used in South Africa: Mahi Mahi, Dolphin, Dolphinfish and the Gold Mackerel. The Dorado is a strong fighting saltwater fish and once landed has beautiful colourations and markings... The Dorado is also affectionately called the Dorie (Dory) in Southern Africa.
