The Southern Mullet, also known as the Harder Mullet in South Africa, is a very common saltwater fish species and is a prize in many anglers eyes as this is a favourite live or dead bait to target sharks, rays, Kob and other predatory fish. The Southern (Harder) Mullet occur in large shoals and are best caught using a throw (Cast) net, they can also be caught on small drift baits.
