Information & Photos Of The Slender Sunfish Ranzania laevis
The Slender Sunfish is a strange looking South African fish species that looks similar to the less common Oceanic Sunfish. The Slender Sunfish is an offshore species that can be found all around the coast of South Africa and all around the World in fact. The Slender Sunfish is a tropical fish that can grow up to 1 meter in length. The Slender Sunfish is also called the Slender Mola, Ranzania, Short Sunfish, Trunkfish and Oblong Sunfish.
Not a lot is known about the Slender Sunfish although it can be caught in shallow water up to depths of 150 meters and possibly deeper... In 2011 a Slender Sunfish washed up on a beach in the Western Cape, this was the first occurrence of a Slender Sunfish washing up on a South African beach.
